Victorian Government has announced the release of additional 330 Wheelchair taxi licences for Melbourne
The Victorian Government has announced the release of additional taxi licences for the Melbourne region to reward career taxi drivers and provide a more timely and efficient taxi services for taxi users, especially those with special needs.
Key features of the release offer include:
?330 wheelchair accessible taxi and 200 conventional taxi licences for the Melbourne region
?a unique opportunity for taxi drivers, or individuals who would be eligible for taxi accreditation, to invest in their own business
?licences will be issued for a set 10-year period and can be transferred
?upfront payment for conventional taxi licences and annual fees for wheelchair accessible taxi licences will be determined by a market process.
The Application forms for the Greater Melbourne Taxi Licence Release will be available from midday on Monday 28 June.
Greater Melbourne Taxi Licence Release Application Packs will be available from the Victorian Taxi Directorate Customer Service Centre, the Melbourne Airport Taxi Inspection Centre or by calling the Victorian Taxi Directorate Call Centre on 1800 638 802.
