Victorian Disability Advisory Council - Call for Nominations - Members
The Victorian Disability Advisory Council (the Council) provides advice to the Minister for Community Services, Lisa Neville on government policies. It also provides advice on strategies to increase the participation of people with a disability in our community.
The Minister is calling for nominations for members of the Council.
Nominees must be:
? Victorian residents with a disability or carers
? Able to consult effectively with people with a disability
Nominations are encouraged from people with a disability, including:
? Young people and women
? People in rural and regional areas
? People from culturally diverse backgrounds and Indigenous communities
? People with a diversity of disabilities including people with an acquired brain injury, people with an intellectual disability and mental health consumers.
Member appointments are for terms of one to three years. The Council meets at least six times a year across metropolitan and regional Victoria and members are expected to participate and prepare for meetings.
