Bans on disabled restraint methods urged

DANGEROUS physical manoeuvres being used to restrain the intellectually disabled in Victoria should be banned, a leading disability expert and government consultant has recommended.

In a report to the state government last year, Keith McVilly, an associate professor in Deakin University's school of psychology, recommended a list of physical manoeuvres to be removed from Victoria's disability services.........
