Some of you may not know that before I came to rely on a wheelchair to get around I was a reasonably good darts player. Darts is one thing I miss immensely. I thought I would let you all know that I have worked with Russ Strobel and supported his efforts to have his darts frame accepted for competitions within Australia and as you can see from his email he has been successful, indeed it may get global approval. I am so proud of this achievement.

On friday 23rd at 9am I made my presentation and demonstration to national delegates from all States of Australia. My presentation lasted an hour and finished with a demonstration of the Wildfire 137 dart frame. The Australian Capital Territory indicated to everyone in room as we stood at the frame that they had already put in a grant application to purchase 8 units based on the photos they had seen with you in it... The National Coaching Director said it's absolutely brilliant and will offer so many opportunities to everyone and will promote its use throughout Australia.

Not one negative comment was made. I left them to discuss their decision at 10am. At 10.05am I received a call from Kelvin the DFA Pres saying the height had been passed and recognised, and the Wildfire 137 dartframe specifically authorised for use between able-bodied players and those without lower body mobility at all events Australia-wide. Special events will be held for those with more serious levels of disability using the same dart frame in separate comps. As you can imagine this is huge news and already in the past two days Nepal have indicated their intention to use the new board height there for their wheelchair program. Winmau in England have expressed interest in manufacture also and want to approach the World Darts Fed. to try and get them to approve it globally.Your letter was very well received and the point made clear about inclusion in competitions. I feel it made a difference to the whole presentation and result. I can't thank you enough.
