Just a quick reminder about the 2010 Centre for Public Policy Hamer Oration on Good Government to be held on Thursday the 5th of August at 6.00pm for 6.30pm.
The topic of this year's oration is Climate Change, China Booms and Australia's Governance Struggle in a Changing World. The keynote speaker is Professor Ross Garnaut. In his talk, Professor Garnaut will focus on civil society and governance — the problem of keeping space for the public interest against sophisticated pressure from private interests, with the climate change and economic policy challenges facing Australia over the next few years providing the examples. This event will be chaired by Professor Robyn Eckersley from the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Melbourne.
