Two weeks ago I presented to the Brimbank Disability Network group about the St Albans Disability Inclusion Project. I would like to take the opportunity to forward some more information about the project and encourage you and the members of your networks to get in touch to have your say about how council can play a greater role in providing and facilitating services and supports for people with a disability in St Albans. The St Albans Disability Inclusion Project wants to hear the views of people with a disability, their carers, service providers and key supports about the experience of living, working or participating in activities in St Albans, Kings Park and Kealba. The aim of the project is to learn how well existing council services, supports and programs meet the needs of people with a disability, and changes that could be made to make accessing St Albans easier. The project is also looking at the needs of people with a disability from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds who live in St Albans, Kings Park and Kealba, and how their social or cultural background might impact on their support needs and experience of disability.
For more information about the project, or to make a time to speak about your experiences, contact Andrew Gillett at St Albans Connect.
