DHS - Invitation to apply for the Disability Services Professional Development Grant

The Department of Human Services, Disability Services recognises the contribution that life-long learning and professional development makes towards a fulfilling work life.As such, we encourage people currently working or wanting to work in Disability Services, to apply for a Disability Services Professional Development Grant (DSPDG).

DSPDGs (previously titled 'disability scholarships and study tour awards') program, provide financial support for existing and potential workers to develop skills and knowledge in specific areas of need for people with a disability and service development. The DSPDGs program consists of:
- Study grants (for study via tertiary or TAFE courses that lead to a qualification): valued at between $3,000 - $5,000 (contribution towards course fees only incurred in 2011 & 2012)
- Ethel Temby research grants (for research via PhD, Masters, formal research projects or interstate or overseas travel tours): valued at $9,000 (for costs incurred in 2011).
